- This is not your standard "I need a good book on C++" request.
- I'm looking for recommendations for books for teaching
- introductory level C++ in a classroom environment. I'm
- currently sitting through a class on C++ (pun noted) with
- the understanding that I'll be teaching the course next Fall.
- The current text was chosen in a hurry as the focus of the
- course switched from C to C++ and I'm already noting some
- deficiencies and other stuff that seems to be more the
- author's opinion rather than industry recognized issues.
-
- Now I need to start looking at other options for text books
- in the Fall. I need something in a tutorial vein that doesn't
- assume that the student knows anything about C but may assume
- that they've had programming experience. It should be
- introductory in nature and shouldn't be too profound.
- Anything that requires detailed explaining I should be able
- to fill in.
-
- If you have any recommendations, please email me at the address
- below.
-
- TIA
